Get to Know the CRäKN Team: Alyssa Singleton

We’ve been introducing you to CRäKN team members in our ongoing blog series, “Get to know the CRäKN team.”

As our team continues to grow, we’re excited to be able to keep introducing you to new team members! This week, we sat down with Alyssa Singleton, one of our Customer Success interns. Keep reading to see what her favorite thing is about working at CRäKN and what she’s looking forward to in the near future.

Q: What’s your role with CRäKN?

I have the pleasure of being a part of CRäKN as a Customer Success Intern. No two days are the same for me. I assist in anything from onboarding new clients within CRäKN and marketing, all the way to sitting in developer meetings and seeing the development of new product features and testing those features.

I enjoy being involved within the different departments because it gives me the opportunity to see several sides of this business and make the most of my internship.

Q: What’s one word that best describes you?

Committed. I chose this word because whatever I set my mind to, I make sure to accomplish it. I am fully committed in my personal and professional life as well as any side projects I agree to take on. I was chosen for the “Responsibility” award for my entire senior class in High School, and I believe being committed and responsible are two incredible characteristic traits to possess.

Q: CRäKN is helping to make work more streamlined and simple for funeral directors. Do you have any tools you use or examples of how you are simplifying your work/life right now?

Since being in college, I have noticed that emails are a large part of professional communication. But when you are bombarded with emails from work, colleagues, class projects, promotions, campus events, and so on it can become extremely overwhelming.

I started creating folders within my email account that will automatically filter emails from certain addresses to a unique folder. This has helped me be able to find important emails quicker and I don’t have to worry about accidently skipping over or deleting emails that require my attention.

Q: What is your favorite thing about what you do at CRäKN?

One of my favorite things that I do at CRäKN is working on initial onboarding/client set-ups within CRäKN. I think it is safe to say that everyone on the team enjoys this because it marks the beginning of a funeral home taking the steps to become more efficient. It also is about building relationships with not only our team, but relationships with our clients, too.

Once the Customer Success team sets up a funeral home, we are passionate about helping funeral directors save time and cut down on duplicate work.

Q: What might surprise CRäKN clients to know about you?

It may be surprising to hear that I have always loved working with people and being a part in creating memories in their lives. In the past I have worked everywhere from the Cincinnati Zoo, where I got to help families come together and learn more about conservation and the beautiful wild life we share this planet with, all the way to creating magic at Walt Disney World and seeing families come from all over the world to spend quality time with each other and make sure they experience a vacation of a lifetime.

Today, I am able to be a part of major events in peoples’ lives by assisting in a software tool that allows the funeral staff see that their job is done seamlessly, so that they can put more time into focusing on families and other tasks.

Q: What’s the best part of your role right now at CRäKN?

My favorite part about working at CRäKN is getting to work side-by-side with unbelievable coworkers. Everyone here is willing to help one another, they have made learning more about this industry fun and meaningful. Each day is a different day and I love the variety of work I am able to accomplish in different fields within the business.

Q: Last question: What are you most looking forward to in the coming months?

In the next coming months, I am looking forward to seeing how the product will grow and how I, being just an intern, have helped with new product features come to life. I also am excited to expand within my specific role by managing more tasks as I show the team what all I am capable of.
