What does a day in the life of Dave Dziak, Software Developer at CRäKN, look like?
Dave focuses primarily on the back-end of CRaKN. Part of his objective: improving CRäKN to make work easier, simpler, and more efficient for funeral professionals. “The ‘back-end’ refers to the logic behind the features you know and love, and the things that are coming next,” Dave adds.
Right now for Dave, that focus is on the accounting integrations that CRäKN offers.

Q: Are you a night owl or early bird?
I am definitely a night owl. Sometimes I’ll sit down on a coding project at a reasonable hour, and look up to see it’s 3 AM!
Q: What’s one thing you enjoy about your work right now?
If I had to pick only one thing, I would have to say the team here at CRäKN. It’s an overwhelmingly positive and supportive environment. From the customer success team to my fellow developers, everyone is always available to lend a helping hand.
Q: CRäKN is helping to make work more streamlined and simple for funeral professionals. What is one tool you are using right now that helps you simplify your life in some way?
Autopay for bills. Absolute game changer.
Q: Are there any hobbies or other activities you enjoy?
I am very much an outdoorsman. I live near a state park and I like to spend most of my free time outside (weather permitting). I love fishing, kayaking, camping, hiking, and bonfires. I also love sports: primarily baseball, and every summer you can catch me at a game. I also play in a recreational volleyball league.
Q: Last question: What are you most looking forward to in the coming months at CRäKN?
There are so many new features that we have been discussing internally (stay tuned to this blog for more info!)
I can’t say which specifically I am most excited about, but continuing to streamline the process for you, the user, is the reason I get out of bed in the morning. I love writing code and working on exciting new projects, but the best part is knowing I made someone’s job just a little bit easier.
