Many of us have grown in ways we didn’t expect this year. There’s no denying that 2020 brought its challenges, but it has also given us lifelong lessons and strengthened some of our most important relationships.

One of those lessons learned (or for some, recalled) is just how much thankfulness and gratitude can help us find goodness and joy worth celebrating in our lives, no matter our circumstances.

This past year, we’ve also seen how expressing gratitude can go such a long way—on our team, with our partners and clients, and within our community. Once again, we want to show our gratitude to you: our community, team, customers partners, and all of those who have supported us throughout the past year and beyond.

What Are You Most Thankful for When Looking Back at 2020?

With a gratitude mindset guiding us, here’s a look at what some of our team members are most thankful for as they reflect on the past year:

“I am most grateful for my health and the health of my family. It has been a difficult year with losses we didn’t expect from circumstances no one expected. I am glad that in the midst of a very trying time, we are learning to embrace and live each day to the fullest and to be thankful for our blessing no matter how small or large. Heaven grows sweeter.” —Diane Gardner, Director of Customer Success

“While it seems cliché to say I am grateful to be working a job that I love and in good health, for 2020 it is poignant. I am so fortunate to be working with smart, talented people with a product that helps funeral homes thrive professionally and personally.” —Barbie Berger, Key Account Representative

“When I think back on 2020, despite how it’s been quite a hectic and unique year, I still have much for which to be grateful. I’m grateful for my family—I wouldn’t be here without their love and support. I’m grateful for my job—not just having a job, but also being able to work with such an incredible team. I’m grateful for music—this pandemic, I’ve been able to discover some new (or just new to me) artists and rediscover some old favorites. It’s definitely helped me stay a little saner! Lastly, I’m grateful for science—if I could take just one thing away from this crazy year, I firmly believe that trust and belief in science as fact makes us stronger, smarter, healthier, and a more compassionate people.” —Michael Casciato, Software Developer

“Looking back on what a ride 2020 has been has allowed me to learn more about myself and my relationships. I am thankful for my supportive family, friends, teammates, and neighbors who constantly checked in on each other and continued to stay positive and optimistic, despite their own struggles. I am also thankful for my health and safety during this year. 2020 is a year that will be marked as unforgettable around the world.” —Alyssa Singleton, Customer Success Manager

“I am thankful for my family and friends and that everyone stays healthy. Having the opportunity to work with a great group of people that support each other and put the customer first.” —Gates Hoham, Key Account Representative

“When looking back at 2020, I can say that I’m grateful for the health of myself and the people close to me. I’ve also been able to meet plenty of great people in the past year and I’m grateful for the impact they have made on me in such a short time. It’s been a tough year for most, but the opportunity to be able to look ahead to the future is something I’ll always be thankful for.” —Jake Bostic, Software Developer

“I am grateful for the extra family time and the opportunity to slow down a little and reflect on what is truly important.” —Michelle Hetlage, Customer Success Manager

“As I look back on 2020, like most, I am moved by all that we struggled with globally this year. I am grateful for many things, but the very special nuance of human kindness is what I am most grateful for in 2020. To every human being who stopped, took a breath, and showed an extra kindness to another human being, I am grateful to you.” —Nancy Jenner, Key Account Representative
